We’re welcoming La Boomerie label back into our premieres section. This time with a not-so-well-known name of Numero 6, representing Berlin and France at the same time. We were promised “4 club tracks with mellow notes, corky vocals and unexpected sounds”. Let’s check if all that’s true.
The main one, “Woaw” is a moderately hard built banger with some, just a little bit distracting noises in the background. I guess, they count as hypnotic ones and could definitely go as “unexpected” here. Also, jumpy kicks and just a pinch of some vocodered vocals are finishing the picture here.
That was the B-side opener. The A-side opener, “Halo” is a bit pacier tune, that has a bit harder synth chords inside. At one point they are evolving into some hard, almost synthwave percussion presets. Funny thing to watch. “Pomme D’amour (Dream Drum Mix)”, its a-side neighbor – is another piece with a lot of “unexpected sounds” here. With its mysterious mood in the background, and some vocals also – this time without vocodering. The last one on the record – “Roi Cosmos”, takes us into a jumpy synthwave territory again. Just for a little look around.
A nice start for Numero 6, a good streak for La Boomerie, it seems. The record is already waiting for you at Juno, Deejay or hhv. Don’t sleep on it.
