Evasive hypnotism from two of dance music’s most prolific producers.
Stripping back from Jarau’s original Dubnova, minimal maestro’s Dewalta and Voigtmann stretch out over nine minutes with this remix, transforming the direction of the track. Introduction of a new chord carries the groove, shifting focus from the original bassline whilst elements of the original swim in the depths.
Characteristics from both artists are evident in the mix. Effortlessly complimenting one another, Dewalta’s signature plucky strings sing at the rear providing a classic touch, driven by Voigtmann’s silky rhythm. The reduced groove brings refined elements to the surface, glitchy bleeps and stabs dance in conversation-like unison whilst dreamy chords shimmer overhead.
These subtle movements in energy create a refreshing dynamic typical of both Dewalta and Voigtmann. Immersive and hypnotic without being assertive, a less is more approach allows each element to breathe, refining existing parts rather than adding more. Given a full side of vinyl to cast on, the pair are patient with their approach, leaving the track to grow steadily throughout.
