Brothers Will and Max, better known as Duowe, make a killer landing on Babby Rollen’s Slump Recordings with a banging 4-tracker, serving up a supersonic house at every turn of this EP.
Right from the first second, “Xyloroll” signals that it’s a track you want to pick from your USB-bag only when the dancefloor is packed. Strong early 00s vibes, effortlessly balancing between progressive and funky house—a perfect start for 2024.
“Sandy’s Sway” leans more towards the progressive side of house but maintains a modern sound with few retro influences, also those conversations in the track… Yum! “Monster Island” leans even more into the progressive house groove, featuring a HUGE bass that pulls you right in—ideal for large, packed stages. Finally, “Bits N Bobs” offers a lighter but still impactful piece of modern progressive sounds compared to the A1, still capable of doing damage on the dancefloors.
It’s nice to see Duowe’s name beyond Fraise Records. Let’s see if they’ll score another sold-out hit under this release. You can track the status on Juno, Deejay, or One Eye Witness.
