Fresh off the back of a collaborative EP for Ibiza’s recently premiered More Than Music, UK producer Rowlanz and French duo Miroloja land on Infuse with a three-track EP, featuring FUSE resident Rossko on remix duties.
The premiered and title track ‘Totally Lazy’ flexes a laid back attitude, slotting neat rhythms around a female acapella vocal which becomes a focal point of the track. Silky percussive elements stutter around the vocal in a complementary fashion, creating an addictive call and response unison that lingers throughout.
Sounds are gentle and intriguing, allowing for simple patterns to loop over in repetitive motions without growing sour. The low-end plays host to refined sub-bass, slipping notes cleverly between percussion in harmony with distant acid blips adding to the vibe.
007 Freak explores deep territories on the B side, with a spiralling bassline melting against moody textures. Longtime Fuse resident Rossko continues his recent studio ventures with a high energy ‘manlike’ remix. Skippy drums plow energy in the groove of ‘Totally Lazy’, picking up the tempo with eerie pads and a dexterous selection of vocals from the original scattered across bars.
Marking their fourth output of 2019, the trio have each maintained an impressive output, with Rowlanz debuting on Yoyaku’s Joule Imprint, and Miroloja pressing four well-received EP’s on their OLO vinyl outlet. Moreover, most of their recent work have been reviewed or premiered on Trommel, for example CT002V and INFUSE031
