Now five releases deep, Ibiza based label More Than Music is absolutely on a roll with its releases. Since Cally’s bomb ‘Yes No, Maybe So’ back on MTMLTD001 last year, the label has proceeded to keep a consistent approach in providing the goods. It shows no signs of stopping any time soon and the latest release might just be the best yet.
Rowlanz & Miroloja have been invited to the forefront for MTMLTD005 with their Sunrise EP, a killer selection of three deeply euphoric yet energetic numbers. It’s not the first time the two artists have appeared on the same sleeve (check a previous feature in our Vinyl Selection back in February last year) but it is the first time we see the two minds meet for the purposes of whole production. Whilst all three tracks make the listening well worth while there’s something quite special in Sunrise itself.
Prominent features include a soft acid synth that continues to rise and fall with emphasis for much of the duration, gently teased until a lavish breakdown lasting of almost two minutes. Here this sound really comes into its own, creeping with intensity to rile the crowd. Queue a sea of hands in the air before dropping back into the bassline. The track is all the more accentuated by smoothly drifting euphoric high notes and deeply satisfying echoes of laughter which invite a few goes with the filter for the DJs among us.
Sunrise is being played across some of the finest events, from Sunwaves to Circoloco, where the crowd reactions prove the effect this one has in the club. The record as a whole would make a nice treat to your record bag and while it’s not quite out on shelves just yet, you can find it exclusively available for one month at firstname.lastname@example.org or at MTM Record Shop (Ibiza).
