Romanian DJ Herck appears to be gearing himself for one hell of a 2019. Within the past 18 months, he’s released an album on Curtea Veche as well as had his most fruitful production year yet in 2018 with three EPs.
His release on mysterious Russian label ‘Otomoji‘ sounds much like a producer who’s beginning to become of age. With the future firmly in his hands, Trommel is proud to premiere the A side ‘Lazy Daisy’ of Otomoji’s 002 compilation.
The Romanian producer is well versed in track build-up and Lazy Daisy is in no rush to get anywhere fast. The murky drums and claps are made all the more mysterious by the inaudible and distorted talking in the background that seems straight from the School of Villalobos. Showcasing Herck’s producing ability is the simply stunning, atmospheric bassline that controls and guides the track through the percussion.
