D’julz’s Bass Culture imprint celebrates ten years of forward-thinking house music.
Following the immense 20 year milestone for the Frenchman’s parties at the infamous Rex Club in Paris under the same name, the label invites an all-star cast of contributors in a triple vinyl release to mark ten years of the label.
The compilation splits into three individual 12” vinyl, featuring some of the labels earliest signing in the likes of Alex Picone and Mr G, as well as more recent artists such as fellow Frenchman Leo Pol.
Argentinian native Franco Cinelli shapes a peak time cut in the premiered cut ‘BC’ from part one of the package. Silky, nostalgia-inducing melodies cast feel-good atmospheres with neat switches in octave, as well as evolving in satisfying unison with a neat mid synth line resting low in the mix.
Strong drum sounds bring an analogue-sounding punch to the mix, balancing emotion from melodic portions of the track with dance floor friendly heat. Bouncy hats dominate the high end, injecting energy into new sections, yet remaining refined and uncluttered.
Early contributors to the label John Jastszebski and Sebo K complete the EP with two intelligent house cuts, moulding warm and luscious elements with classic 909 drum timbres.
