Having bloomed from the legendary Bacau club of the same name Romanian label and booking agency Zebra will be bringing to London a crack team of artists for a label showcase next month. Running from the evening of Saturday, February 19th through to the evening the following night the Romanians are old hands at programming extended sessions and for their first London showcase a big event was clearly in order.
The beginning of the adventure will be taking place in an industrial unit (10) in Forest Business Park the warehouse aesthetic of the space will be the perfect blank canvas to project their vision of a good old UK rave. With such an extended dancing session on the cards it is imperative there is the right artists to ensure that the party never flags and the stacked Funktion One system falls silent, we think they might have this covered with room to spare.
The night time session will be headed up by two thirds of perhaps Romania’s favourite DJ team RPR Soundsystem. The pairing of Raresh and Petre Inspirecscu rarely disappoints, in fact there is no known record of such a thing happening. Ever. Providing the support for this section of the journey will be long serving Zebra Rec member Sebastian Eric and MNML London representative Warren Anthony. With this part of the two-venue event running for around eight hours the onus will be on extended sets and rightly so.
A short cab ride away and an epic after party awaits at an as yet disclosed venue but there is little doubt that you won’t want find it. Topping the bill is another Romanian B2B and this time it is from the minds, ears and record bags of Cap and Suciu. Well versed in all manner of settings these two talented story tellers are regularly called upon to slay the dancefloor in the name of several top-flight parties such as VBX, Sunrise and Pressure Traxx. Their focus will firmly be on Zebra London showcase as will the supporting artists in longstanding Zebra Rec artists Hrisq and Pe Dant as well as Botanic Minds artist Ted Amber. The pedigree of Zebra is beyond reproach and their first London chapter looks to continue this top quality grass roots approach to events looks to further cement this.
