Having been a major driving force in Switzerland’s minimal renaissance under the tree has something truly special up their sleeve for their second birthday event next month. It’s hard to fathom that under the tree has only been in the game for 2 years given the sheer amount of game-changing artists that they welcomed to their family over the last 23 months.
The team at under the tree has called Supermarket their home since their very first party back in 2017 but their contribution to the European minimal and micro scene reaches far beyond the newly refurbished walls of their longstanding Zurich base. From welcoming Priku and his live act as Atipic to some of the acts from the [a:rpia:r] stable of artist and the many top artists that make up the multi-faceted Romanian minimal scene and this will be maintained without a shadow of doubt come their next event on Wednesday, December 25th.
Since Praslea joined under the tree for their 1st birthday event it seems every event has stood out as being one for the books but when the team have welcomed Ferro, Charlie, Dyed Soundorom, caLLy, Dan Andrei, Rossko, Crihan, Einzelkind, Fabe, Kozo, Nu Zau, Vicerversa, Romar and now they are set to welcome a whole new set of debutants, old friends to their family and the prospect of their finest party to date. In true under the tree style this party will run for at least 25hours and there also are rumors that this will extend to incorporate an after-hours slant, so plenty of time to get some Christmas cheer at Supermarket.
First up is Arapu, an artist that under the tree has been tracking for a long time and now they finally have their man. He has put out records on some of the scenes most respected labels in Point of View and Raresh’s Metereze so it is little wonder that Arapu featured so high up on their wanted list.
under the tree will this Christmas be handing out even more presents as they welcome yet another debut to Supermarket act and that is the double act of Sunrise artists COSMJN b2b LIZZ. Another set of artists that rank high on minimal wish lists around the world and they will be finally making their way to Zurich to blow up under the tree’s celebrations. Joining him is another Romanian whose age also belies his undoubted skill both in the studio and behind a set of decks. Featuring on a regular basis for Sunrise, caLLy will be charged with playing an extended set during the special Boxing Day session. Returning to Supermarket and the fold at under the tree is a firm favourite in [ar:pia:r] artist and Club Guesthouse resident Dan Andrei. Having rocked the house back in May alongside Rossko there is little doubt that he won’t take the crowd on another cosmic journey again this time around.
As well as the superhuman guests that under the tree have lined up this Christmas Day an essential part of any great party is always taken care of by the resident DJs. Taking care of setting the mood of the party of the year will be Bermuda resident Carmine who played a strong opening set last Saturday for Sammy Dee. He will be joined by one of the driving forces behind under the tree Romano Corsini who will be playing a special b2b with the man behind the Unique series of parties Ragan. With Supermarket now offering a wide arching canvas on which to paint all manner of visuals, those graphics will be handled by Club der Visionäre resident Trig Fardust.
