Barcelona and electronic music have a long, storied history — from the legendary afterparties in Viladecans to the raw, forward-thinking world of OFF Sónar. But somewhere along the way, the city’s dancefloor culture lost something. Sets got shorter, nights got faster, and deeper, more underground house music that once defined the scene found itself without a home.
Launching on April 18th, 2026, this new monthly gathering takes place just twenty minutes outside Barcelona, tucked into a small village above the Mediterranean Sea. Surrounded by trees and rolling hills, a natural clearing beside a rustic house becomes the setting for something quietly radical: a 150-person open-air party that runs from sunset to sunset once a month, April through October. There will be no overhyping of their parties, just great music and the freedom for artists and dancers to express themselves fully.

Centric to this new project is a decided shift in the city’s soundtrack. THE WOOD looks to inject light back into the Barcelona party scene and match the natural beauty of the city and warm glow of the life giving sunrays.
THE WOOD isn’t about exclusivity — it’s about intimacy. Just familiar faces, long sets, and the kind of unhurried musical journey that Barcelona encourages meaningful exchanges without the watchful gaze of social media.
Nature is central to the experience. Open skies, Mediterranean light shifting through the afternoon, wind in the trees — the environment isn’t a backdrop, it’s part of the music. Alongside it, a no-phones-on-the-dancefloor policy, high-fidelity sound, candlelit garden areas with hammocks, and local sustainable food and drink keep things grounded and human.

Musically, THE WOOD is La Aso’s firm defence of culture, extended storytelling, and craft over hype. Across the season, the lineup brings together a carefully chosen mix of respected names and fresh voices and each artist will be given the space and time to express themselves fully and without time constraints.
The forest opens at 10pm on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 with the launch party that, rumour has it, will feature a 10-hour set from Tomas Station and Felipe Valenzuela. What better way to introduce Barcelona to this special experience.
