Spanish collective Roots are in the process of signing off on a fantastic season of events that will be culminating in an almighty closing party, but more on that later on. So far, this year they have welcomed esteemed artists in the form of Fabe, Shaun Reeves and they have just celebrated their fifth birthday at Les Enfants Brillants in Barcelona where Arapu and Alffie helping to blow out the candles. Last year was even better with the likes of DJ W!ld, Gene on Earth, Maher Daniel, Lose Endz, John Aquaviva, Quest, Traumer, Priku and Vitess all performing.
Now to the task at hand of putting to bed this season of events and who better to offer those closing party vibes than Franco Cinelli. His fire productions and groove led DJ sets are in constant rotation with the biggest names in the business and his South American flair for percussion is a well-known story. Helping to rock Roots’ stomping ground of Goya Social Club in Madrid on Saturday, June 11th regulars will be Papol and Alvaro Medina.
Like many promoters, the last few years has seen a distinct lack of travel plans being made to Barcelona during the magical mid-June period. This period has thankfully now come to an end for Spanish crew Roots. By their own admission this is their favourite time to be in Barcelona and it shows with the line-up that they have curated for the occasion. Their OFF Week event will need to be pretty impressive to beat this shindig and they certainly have pulled out all the stops. Taking place at The M7 on Friday, June 17th Roots have a veritable smorgasbord of heavy hitters appearing at a venue that is quickly becoming a home form home for minimal’s elite.
With a line-up such as this is it would be unfair to mention one artist over another. Argentinian maestro Alexis Cabrera is first up and will be bringing his stunning live set to Barcelona, he will be joined by top selectors Djebali, Ferro, Javier Carbello, Jorge Savoretti, and recent headliner Shaun Reeves returns to the fold. Joining this fine array will be Roots regulars Ion Pananides, Karcelen, Maryo and Pisano, so it is safe to say that this is a show not to be missed this OFF Week.
