ReSolute affiliated record label DISDAT unveils something special for their fifth release

The impact and subsequent void that Andrew Weatherall left within the electronic music realm is sizable and it continues to be felt. As New York linchpins ReSolute put it in their recent Instagram post, “During the final years of his journey, Andrew made an unforgettable impact on the ReSolute dancefloors with his all night long sets expanding beyond 8 hours.” With this in mind, it seems only right that an unreleased track from The Guvnor has found its way onto their affiliated label DISDAT.

On the A-side Weatherall is in moody chugging mode on ‘Y.W. Eleven’ and has crafted a slo-mo, dark disco groove with hints of the magic that made him such a revered producer during the ’90s. As well as bagging a posthumous track from one of the most talented and influential artists of our time there is also a remix included from another legendary producer but of a different vibe altogether.

Completing this collector’s item release is a re-rub from none other than Romanian talisman Rhadoo. The Romanian’s remix is highly prized and in this case, the energy has been ramped up considerably and where the synth work was previously edging towards Balaerica Rhadoo brings those synths into focus with the aid of a biting square wave, punchy drums and some glitch background atmospherics. Previous releases included the likes of Cedric Dekowski, Felix Reifenberg, Flabbergast, and Martinez so this label is well known to those in the know so don’t sleep.

The ‘Y.W. Eleven’ EP from Andrew Weatherall is now available to pre-order at yoyaku.io.
