Walking out from the magical lit up lawns of Capesthorne Hall after the standout success of a day at Hide&Seek festival last year, amidst the buzz of excited conversation the same question could be heard over and over. In fact, looking back, it wasn’t really a question. More of a statement of intent, as the people in their numbers discussed plans to return for the next edition.
Led by the ever-popular Manchester events brand You&Me, with Josh Baker and Kurt Hurst at the helm, this day was always going to be the business. The progressive nature of their regular parties has meant a quick rise to the top of the Northern events calendar, as club nights and day do’s alike continue to come back bigger and better. After Hide&Seek 2021, there was however a question left to be answered – how are they gonna top that?
The team wasted little time preparing for 2022 and it wasn’t long before we had our answer. Do it again, but this time, double it. Hide&Seek will this year be taking place over two days in September and the wait to do it again will be drastically reduced. A testament to the crew and a statement of their longevity, as they continue to grow and grow. The following is there, the formula is proven and for now, that’s all we really need to know.
Of course, more details will be released in the coming weeks, in particular lineup-wise which is rumoured to be the best to date. In the meantime, we reflect and reminisce. We think back to Tentree, nestled in the forest with the likes of Ferro & Reiss (aka Spokenn), Sonja Moonear and Raresh, closing the night doused in deep purples and reds.
Our minds wander back to The Contour, where Baker himself can be caught in the moment, in a full set stream recently released by Powered By Rec. We continue to be served fresh reminders of what went on. And the content keeps on coming, with Sweely and Apollonia in tow.
As we think back to the festivities, reliving the day, we have the pleasure of knowing we get to do it all again this September. Twice. Tickets are already on sale, with the option to spread the cost over a payment plan. But don’t sleep on these – the pre-allocation sold out in less than 48 hours.
Hide&Seek Music & Arts Festival 2022 takes place over two days on 3rd and 4th September. Check out our review of last year’s edition here.
