Australian electronic outfit Red Ember Records team up with Barcelona’s OFF The Record as they take to Buena Onda Social Club for a daytime session to ease in OFF week.
Boasting an all-Australian line up, they have searched the deepest depths and selected some of the country’s finest electronic exports. Heading the bill of this deep and groovy curation is Red Ember Records founder Ewan Jansen who will be performing one of his inimitable live sets. With his first release on Red Ember back in 1997, to his latest record ‘Ciclo Mental’ which marked their 25th physical release, Ewan’s consistent commitment to the craft is every bit as impressive as his output.
Fellow Perth-based DJ and producer, Basic Mind joins the party, bringing his casually hypnotic sound to the table. Known for deep and psychedelic productions, Basic Mind has been etching his way through the underground with some solid releases, most recently landing a 4-tracker on R.A.N.D. Muzik Records. Echoing early house and acid techno, his raw modular sound is slow brooding with atmospheric textures, rich arpeggiations and resonating bass. We will certainly be keeping a close eye out for future releases.
London-based crate digger extraordinaire, Sharad, will be unearthing gems and flexing his collection of tasty dancefloor-primed weaponry as he shares his sound. Originally hailing from Adelaide, Sharad cut his teeth through decades of parties in Australia’s deep south, which saw make-shift art spaces and tour vans all part of the setup through Visitors’ party concept.
Flirting with deep dub, ambient and delicate drone Civic Grace brings her lucid sound to the fold, with it comes a transcendence of sorts as listeners ebb and flow through various musical universes. Born and raised in Sydney, Civic Grace has made her pilgrimage to Berlin where her sound continues to develop and evolve in the most fertile of settings for more experimental electronic music.
This tasteful curation will be well-matched with Buena Onda Social Club’s unique and homely vibes. Red Ember will be celebrating their lengthy journey with exclusive merch available on the night!
