Paris crew Distrikt have got the city on lock and for their next event they will be taking over one of the city’s finest venues. They have certainly pulled out all the stop since France opened up their burgeoning dancefloors and with artists such as Nicolas Lutz, Z@p, and Kosh just in the last few months their next event is capable of eclipsing that.
Taking control of the sounds will be a suitably eclectic array of artists that will surely blow the roof off Cabaret Sauvage on Wednesday, May 25th. Right at the top of the bill is none other Chris Korda and her envelope pushing live performance. With releases on Perlon, International Deejay Gigolo Records, Partout and of course her own self released EP’s. Equal parts mathematician, activist and musician Chris strikes a stark figure in the booth and the live arrangement of tracks from her new album ‘Passion For Numbers’ as well as previous works will be the perfect mix of jazz, techno and minimal.
Continuing the alternative side of electronic music will be two artists that have a penchant for raw synth lines and darker basslines. First off is Christian AB and what he does not know about moving a packed-out dancefloor is not worth knowing and moving between bass heavy techno, to bouncing garage and everywhere in between. On a similar tip but with decidedly South American flair DJ Koolt will be jetting over to France to smash the living daylights out of Distrikt’s May rave.
This wouldn’t be a Distrikt party without a pair of their trusts residents and the pairing of Blanco b2b Escko. The dynamics they bring to everything that they do speaks volumes of the success Distrikt enjoys is a small, yet completely intrinsic part of their brand. Regardless of where this assembled group of artists perform during the event at Cabaret Sauvage it is all about the journey.
