Amsterdam house label PIV celebrates turning five with double VA

In a city that oozes house music history from every facet of its cobbled streets, Amsterdam has been the location of a bit of a tech-house revolution in the last few years. PIV Records and the close family of artists that orbit it have done a great job of bridging the funky void between New York and Chicago house of the ’80s and ’90s and the worlds of modern underground tech-house and minimal. The result is a growing discography of groove packed heaters that bristle with popping percussion, big rounded basslines, lush pads, and soaring synth lines.

In the relatively short space of time that PIV has been on the scene they have racked up a number of club hits coming from a range of artists including Chris Stussy, Prunk, Djoko, and Toman. With the Dutch label reaching such a landmark of 5 years in the game they have been working behind the scenes to preparing the 2 x 12” VA which will be pressed on gold vinyl. The release will also be released digitally and will feature feel-good tracks from the usual cast of regular suspects as well as Jesse Maas, Demarzo, Jae, and Ruze.

5 Years of PIV Records is now available to pre-order from Beatport and Deejay.de.
