Ion Ludwig announces new LP for Swiss label Adam’s Bite. The 11-track Truth Only Exists in Paradise marks his sixth full-length album.
Following last year’s Rolling Drama LP on Baby Ford’s Trelik, the Dutch artist explores a spectrum of emotions in Truth Only Exists in Paradise. Deep, melodic excursions touch on jazz and hip-hop, alongside a number of serene club cuts.
‘Think Music’ veers down the familiar 4/4 avenues of much of his previous work. Warm, dusty piano chords loop over a featherweight drum palate.
Sounds evolve with ease, welcoming a vocal sample weaving between an addictive, squelchy bassline. The complementary nature of patterns being introduced to the mix forms a timeless foundation that could sound as comfortable in the intimate confines of CDV, as it would a large festival stage.
Each track offers a variance in mood, yet maintain the same level of diligence and interest. It’s the strain of house music that finds it’s way into the bag of DJ’s from a variety of scenes. A small window into the countless hours spent in the studio of Ion Ludwig.
The Basel based imprint Adam’s Bite launched earlier this year with the previously premiered debut EP from founder Martinesque. Exploring unique, sultry productions, the Swiss imprint has rapidly become one to watch.
Truth Only Exists in Paradise comes on three 180g records, with a rare digital release to follow on the label’s Bandcamp.
