Les Enfants Brillants in Barcelona made quite the impact when they opened the doors to their bespoke nightspot and they have carried this ethos over into their vinyl only imprint. For their next release Les Enfants Records present a rather special collab from two names (technically three) that have massively influenced the modern house landscape – Djebali and Miroloja.
Rolling out with the title A1 track “Vista” and the trademark smooth crispy grooves take center stage from the off. Deep probing bass tones ensure that the grooves offer the right impact on the dancefloor while the swirling synth pads hovering overhead elevate the mind to a different plane. The deft subtleties that bleed into this and each artists work is a joy for those all important late night listens as more and more magic is revealed every time.
Side A is completed by a squelchy reworking of “Vista” from Voigtmann who injects his trademark energy into proceedings from the very start. Retaining the airy synth and synth stabs from the original, Voigtmann stamps his high octane seal here via his own gnarly bassline and rousing accompanying percussion.
Flipping over and side B belongs solely to Djebali and Miroloja and they kick off with the robotic funk of “Dance With Me”. Starting out the stripped back grooves more than do the business, but it is when the emotive pads begin to flow in that the track takes on a larger footprint. Closing out another fine addition to the LER stable is “Leather”. Compact grooves lock in and don’t move for the duration of this dub house banger. The infectious bassline wiggles right into the ear and you will be lucky if you can prise this out with even the smallest of tweezers.
With all good collaborative projects there is always a great story behind it and what better way to explain the project than the artists themselves…
