For the next episode of Skylax EDIT series, there is a pair of sizzling weapons that are primed and ready for those after-hours moments.
On today’s premiere, we opt for Floorfillers’ killer cut “Je Suis Amoureux”, a refrained groover that keeps the rhythm locked throughout. A hypnotic state is kept throughout, thanks to the emotive strings that rise and fall along with the flow of the track. For added attitude, there is a smattering of acid that helps to punctuate the seductive vocals.
On the flip, there is an unmistakable Dave Gihan tone on “The Sinner,” but with a more introspective, minimal groove. Made famous by Ricardo Villalobos, this version is much more reduced and leans heavily on a zappy percussion and a bass-heavy beat.
