Premiere: B1 – Alexis Cabrera – Nonchalantly (Sweely Remix) [PDMV005]

If ever you needed a record in your life it would come via the combined efforts of Alexis Cabrera and Sweely. The fact that this epic record comes via David Gtronic’s Personality Disorder Music imprint must surely seal the deal as a record that is a must for any discerning selector.

Our pick of the release is the meeting of these two live experts on titular track “Nonchalantly”. Where the Cabrera’s original version leans heavily on the rib cracking snare hits and airy synth work, Sweely dials up the bass frequencies, carving out a compact footprint but one that packs a hell of a punch.

Known for his club ready weapons, Sweely takes the original source material of bleepy electronics and boils them down into a peak time monster. It is a tough call which is the better version here as Alexis’ version makes great use of disco drum hits and shimmering synth stabs, but we just couldn’t resist sharing the joint effort of these two maestros.

Completing side A, Alexis unveils more outrageous drum processing in “A Little Bit Of This” and he couples this with his skills for crafting devastating basslines. Add to this the tangle of warped synths and unwavering energy you have another bomb that adds even more weight to an already stacked package.

Rounding out yet another excellent release from Personality Disorder Music is the third and final original work from Alexis. “Visual Board” is a more subdued affair, but only just, as the deep bass tones will put even the finest soundsystems through their paces. As always, the drum programming is second to none, as is the mysteriously pointed synth line. Word of advice, make sure you grab this record with both hands when it comes out as this unmissable wax will not hang around for long.
