The Argentinian duo deliver a no-nonsense, acid-laced dance floor weapon that floats with ethereal harmonies and brings the beat heavy throughout.
The next outing from Who These Records finds itself in the form of a V.A. and features sounds from the man behind Musica Lunar and Savor Music, no stranger to the game, Jorge Savoretti. An artist who has been making waves in the South American electronic music scene for years now, holding notable residencies since as early as 1999. Fellow component of the Musica Lunar family, Francisco Tettamanti, a comparative newcomer to the scene brings his electro-tinged slant to the fold as he collaborates with Jorge Savoretti, fresh off the back of a solid vinyl 4-tracker on Savor Music the other year.
The V.A. also features one more Argentinian tastemaker, House Journey founder, Dellacasa, who kicks off the release with a bouncy number, “The Whale”. Deep and dancey vibes that tease in some funk whilst soulful pads and sampling keep us riding the wave throughout A1. “Orion” rounds out the A-side with some robust, electro-tinged weaponry that hears a host of twisty, robotic sounds in amongst some serious gun-finger moments.
The B-side enters the unknown as artist aliases are intentionally left out, leaving us to make our best guesses as to who it could be. B1. “Kinetic Rhythms” keeps the energy high as an arsenal of drums meet rainforest samples, smooth harmonies and a serious groove. Definite dancing music right here!
B2.’s “Cosmos” features an acidic lead line that takes us straight there, coupling with tight grooves on the sub and toms as a series of samples and pads lead us toward an ethereal destination. A well-structured piece that delivers the groove sweetly and as the acid line opens up, we transcend to the cosmos. Uplifting euphoric stuff, from the unknown into the unknown!
Another fruitful outing from Argentinian outfit, Who These Records 002 has us more than excited for the rest of the story to come.
