Premiere: A1 – Z-ID – Shinobi [FYM02]

Steppy, low-slung and sleazy sounds meet an array of ominous arpeggios, searing pads and more in Z-ID’s “Shinobi” EP which marks Follow Your Mind’s second vinyl output.

The label project headed up by Samuel Jabba celebrates its second release which features 3 heavy-shelling originals from Parisian producer Z-ID and a naughty flip from Argentinian artist Juaan. Following suite after their first release from head honcho Mr. Jabba, who delivered 4 infernal, intergalactic electro pieces, this next release does not fall short of the radar.

We are super happy to premiere A1. “Shinobi” from the release, a tasteful curation of sounds from across the cosmos. Dancefloor-driving sub content works in tandem with a militant rhythm section which marches forth into the abyss to the call of the vocal chops that beckon lead lines that fuel the engine, bringing home the goods.

A2. Hears Juaan’s retelling of “Shinobi” as he heads west with a host of infectious sounds and solid drum programming with definite nods to the old skool.

On the flip side, Z-ID continues his interstellar voyage with “Camavida”, an electric and hypnotic slice of electro. Stellar synthesis takes the fore whilst melodies meander and evolve as the track develops, a well-structured expedition into the depths of space.

Rounding things out B2.’s “Heavy like machine” does what it says on the tin and lays it on heavy with a healthy dose of acid and some well thought out vocal chops for some no-nonsense fun finger action.

Promising stuff again from the good folks over at Follow Your Mind – electro heads, this label is a must! Stay tuned for more intergalactic currents coming your way.
