Berlin-based E-Wax return with their next Editions EP.
Label boss SY shapes two chunky, deep house jams, both with remixes from DJOKO and Den Haas.
The German outfit has been a tastemaker within the sultry ends of house music for many years, with frequent outputs across their numerous projects E-Wax, Black/White, and the featured Editions series.
SY‘s wide-spanning taste within this strain of club music comes through in the vibe of each track. Uplifting basslines wrap around crisp, warm percussion and stunning, head-in-hands pads built for euphoric moments on the dance floor.
Curation thus far has featured the likes of Fabe and Lee Burton, as well as the more minimalist contributions from the likes of Romania’s Marcu Rares which premiered on the channels back in 2019.
Fellow German producer DJOKO gives ‘Cant Get Enough’ a spicy treatment in the featured remix. Injecting punchy energy to the low end, a new bassline finds its home within dubby, rolling atmospheres loaded with flavour.
Slick vocal snippets from the original appear throughout the track, peeking through the luscious chord stabs fizzing overhead. DJOKO continues a prolific streak of form with this remix, following a series of releases for Berg Audio, Hoove, and his own DJOKOCAMP already this year.
Den Haas returns to the label with a stunning remix of ‘Higher’. The Dutch artist lathers tear-jerking chords over a humble bassline that could bring tears to the right dance floor.
Each track on the release brings a variant in mood, making for a highly playable EP. Early support on the release comes from the likes of Archie Hamilton and Politics Of Dancing, and is sure to find its way into the library of many selectors upon the return of clubland.
