Today, we’re having Nieuw Hollands Spoor’s latest release, a split EP featuring Luca Piermattei and the enigmatic Fidelio. Let’s dive into Luca’s side of the record.
“Third Rec,” though the final track on the release, feels like a grand finale. Luca’s hallmark complexity shines through in this piece, blending various elements into something that almost feels like a live band performance. Close your eyes, and you can picture it happening right in front of you.
Another standout from Luca is “Gas,” which shares a similar foundation with “Third Rec” but introduces a layer of controlled chaos that keeps things dynamic and engaging.
The A-side belongs to mysterious Fidelio, another alias for a familiar name shrouded in mystery. “Multipass 1” is a concise acid-tinged piece featuring seductive whispers and female vocals over a tight bassline—at just 4:27, it’s short but memorable. “Multipass 2,” the longest track, builds on the whispers and moves into progressive territory after an extended intro. Finally, “Multipass 3” rounds off the record with bright chords layered over its signature sounds.
The record will be available soon, so keep an eye on Juno, Deejay, Decks, or your favorite wax dealer.
