Representatives of South France – Shotgun Records are almost ready with their fourth vinyl release. First time ever, after hosting Yamen & Eda, Lamalice and Atree, there will be a split – between, as they are saying, “two of their favorite producers” – Oscar Offermann and TC80. We’re slightly more interested in the last one because he’s our guest tonight. And his track, of course.
TC80 is a regular in premieres sections all over the music the internet in the last few years with a huge number of releases on his own Sequalog or any other label his music became a part of – Cabaret, Antam, Lumbago, etc… Actually, he already jumped into Shotgun Records family on SHTG002 with the remix of Lamalice (even twice – the second one was on their digital compilation).
This time they decided to give him a whole side, that is starting with the premiering today ‘Neo Shinobi’ – a dancefloor-orientated 6-minutes run of huge kick at the front and trippy rhythmic melody on the back that are changing positions during this run but never disappear in full. As Tony commented, he “worked on this track 3 years ago, imagining a futuristic urban environment and a shinobi jumping from buildings to buildings” – seems just right.
His second one here – is a side-closer ‘Nishiazabu‘ with its touch of an 80s evening vibe and much calmer groove in general. Oscar Offermann is landing on the other side of this release with his own track for the DJ-bags ‘Bluesunday’ and ‘Grill127’, that seems calmer at first… But there are many different DJ-bags, you know…
“Split” EP is out soon on Shotgun Records’ Bandcamp and all your usual records shops. Don’t forget to grab it!
