It’s been a while since we last got our hands on something from Accessory Records, but now the time has come. It’s their eighth release, courtesy of Simic (following Miles Mercer’s seventh, of course).
The B-side includes two extended versions of the krautrock-inspired “An Introduction To Frost.” The original, which we’re highlighting today, is a huge, anthem-like track tailored for large venues. Two minutes of something like an intro, with some riffs, a bit of talking, and a few moments of relaxation before the grand finale. All wrapped up in 8 minutes.
APT E’s version stretches even longer, evolving into a trippy, downtempo piece. It’s not usually my preference, but this one has a unique charm. The opener, “Third Dream,” transports us into a dreamy, fairy-tale-like soundscape while still maintaining a banging energy—something typical of this label. “When The Foot Falls” explores a tribal/progressive sound. This one would go straight to my “tools” section if it wasn’t for its second, much noisier part. Well, to the “bangers” then…
The EP is already at the stores. Juno, Deejay, Decks—just pick your dealer and grab this gem.
