OPIA Records is hosting Longhair on their sixteenth instalment, and while I can’t get enough of that “The Forbidden Dance” EP on Love On The Rocks, this one is promised to be just as epic, if not more.
We picked “Lunchbox” from the whole EP – it’s the kind of stripped-down banger designed to rock your afterparties or delicate and cozy dancefloors. It starts off light, trancey, and spacey, then evolves into something seriously ear-pleasing halfway through the track. Remember the 3:25 mark; it’s golden. Plus, gotta give props to the pace of the track – even at -6, it still sounds amazing, tried and tested.
The EP kicks off with “7UP,” and as the opener, it sets the tone perfectly. Similar pace to “Lunchbox,” but with a bit more of a dancefloor vibe, if you ask me. “Salty Context” sometimes leans towards lo-fi vibes, but in a fresh, melodic way that’s perfect for a morning pick-me-up. And the EP’s closer, “Surf & Turf,” is bound to be a summer favorite – its structure just screams beach vibes, a total roller.
