From the minds of Into The Woods comes a brand new label that only deals in the very best underground music that has taken influence from decades gone by. The Pickle kicks off their run with a double hit of Unknown Artist magic with this unmissable 12-inch.
We pick up the release with “Pickle 1,” and since the artist has yet to be identified, we focus on the track itself. Pinpoint snappy grooves propel the EP as a whole to great effect, and A1 races straight out of the blocks with roomy flanged vocal musings in hot pursuit. The bubbly percussion sections match perfectly with the unidentified vocal assailant and only help to enhance the funky nature of the vocal samples.
Flipping over and the funk factor is raised even further by “Pickle 2”. More excellent mixing and drum programming awaits on B1, and there is also the “small” matter of the unmistakable vocal and guitar talents of Prince that play a huge part in “Pickle 2”. This is most assuredly going to be a huge hit with the underground, due to the upbeat nature of the supporting track and great sampling work on some of Prince’s most recognisable work, this is due to feature at only the best parties. Make sure you move quickly as we have been informed this is already close to selling out.
