Premiere: A1 – Toke – Sia [GRFF010]

One of the best talents from Georgia is making his first appearance on the French Griffé. The first and really long-awaited one. I heard the tracks from this release for the first time really long ago and I am glad that the release date is very near. Also, glad that we’re having the best (IMHO) track on the release today and I will show it to you in full.

So, “Sia”, the opener of the release, is one of the most powerful tracks from Toke (very close to last year’s “Pero” and a little bit older “Tvlatxa”). A very speedy stomper without a pile of music elements inside, but everything we have here, is doing its job pretty well. The mood is grey, still not gloomy, maybe consider playing this one at parties with a versatile house/techno line-up more than just some techy ones.

“Receptivness” starts with a bit more relief after the previous stomping. Still, we can hear something coming here up until 2:01. That’s when the juice is starting to drop. “Avalon” is opening the B-side with a breaksy speedrun. Usually I’m saying, that tracks like this one, are perfect for your racing videogame experience. This time won’t be an exception – pick any game from the 00s and run from cops, listening to this one, you’ll feel better after it. And, after all that “Friendly Watcher” on the B2 position could be considered an outro here, with its dark, deep and broken vibes… Until the second part starts. No outro on this one, don’t be fooled.

The countdown to the release date has started long ago, so if you’re in the mood for some Toke sounds – run to Juno, Deejay, Decks or wherever you’re buying your wax. Should be a quick sold-out here.
