Carriego and Griffé are making a comeback in our premieres section with one prime piece. We were promised “stripped-back grooves, rhythmic precision, and textured soundscapes” on the record; let’s check if their press release says the truth.
“The Bridge”, which is finishing the B-side on the record, opens with the full electro swing (do not think about “electro-swing” here, god forbid). But the most interesting part here is after the signature for Griffé buzzes are stepping in, turning this electro beauty into some sort of their well-known dark and moderately slow joint.
Speaking about dark and moderately slow – “Hazard” at the A1 position kinda does the same trick here – the second part is THE THING, without electro this time. “Curtain Call” is compared to some Time Passages stuff – it’s fair, with all that dark synth atmosphere. And “Seems Like” is, I would say, a bit unexpected stripped-down piece – perfect for the finishing of the record or the start of the set.
With the pace of Griffé, their next release will pop up VERY soon, don’t forget about this one. Juno, Deejay, or Decks will have you covered.
