Dutch label Dark Side Of The Sun welcomes back LEON with open arms. A little over a year has passed since his remix contribution to Sidney Charles’ ‘Velo City’. Now, the Italian artist presents his own, featuring two originals and a remix from Jansons.
This latest digital instalment from the platform follows a recent entry also into the world of wax. We premiered Sweely’s remix of ‘Era’ as label boss Luuk van Dijk celebrated the label’s first release on record. We turn our attention back to online, as LEON delivers the Love EP.
The Italian artist has spent much of the last 12 months focusing on his label FUTURA. Alongside his own showcases and events, he continues to be a mainstay at Marco Carola’s Music On. And after over 20 years in the business, the productions keep on coming.
‘Love’ is a warm, synth led groover that comes at just the right time as we approach the summer months. The bassline oozes feels of the old school, infused with a catchy melody that makes you want to move. High notes drive the hook, but it the sensual sounds of a sexy vocal that really stand out. As synths drift, the bright feelings follow.
Jansons adds a tasty rework, less focused on the floating feel good with a more driving beat. Still as sensual as you like, the vocal sits softly amidst the building stabs of synth. Percussion patters signal the drops and the melody holds throughout. While both tracks will do nicely at any day party, the remix will have your hands in the air.
Buy the EP on Beatport from Friday.
