After gracefully entering the vinyl universe this time last year, Leo Christopher is back in the groove with yet another banger record release under his label Murmurations. After earning well-deserved recognition from electronic music aficionados with his debut release, Leo is now stepping up for round two.
Following a similar 4-track format and graphics as the previous release, the label’s identity is beginning to take shape—offering a clean, cohesive aesthetic that brings continuity and a signature look to each record.
Our premiered track on A1 sounds just as “Decorated” as its title suggests—with quirky synths, funky kicks, and a dreamy melodic line to die for. An ethereal journey that first draws you into a relaxing, meditative state, almost like a prelude—before unfolding into a club-ready banger that sends you straight to the dancefloor.
“One In The Groin” on side A2 is a hypnotic soundscape with a garagey twist that gives it an undeniable charm and distinct vibe while continuing, in a way, the ethereal landscape of the first track on the album.
As we flip over to the B-side, we notice a shift in the record’s trajectory, with “Skip” leaning towards a dub-infused realm backed up by Delilah’s seductive voice and a choppy bassline. Closing the EP is “080 Lounge”, in a way that perfectly summarizes the record, merging the dreaminess and the depth of its album counterparts in a magical synergy.
