Premiere: A1 – Brizman – Tomorrow Is A New Day [ARR049]

Brizman lands back on the legendary Artreform label for their 49th release.

The Ukrainian project Artreform has been a constant on our channels, consistently pushing a variety of producers from Eastern Europe and beyond. Whether it’s via their extensive Bandcamp catalogue or the vinyl series, Artreform is never far from the record bag of those into a more stripped-back sound.

Berlin-based producer Brizman returns to Artreform with his latest EP, “Tomorrow Is A New Day”. This follows the success of his 2021 release, “Midnight Tales”, which since he has continued a fine streak of form with a string of releases, as well his own edit of Depeche Mode’s classic ‘Policy of Truth’.

“Tomorrow Is A New Day” offers a trio of tracks united by a distinctive micro-house groove. We zoom into the title track in this premiere, a sleek track casting warm and surrealists atmospheres through clever synth work and a dreamy, laid-back organ vibe. You can picture this one opening up a huge open air stage in the mountains, just as comfortably as keeping a cosy after-hour ticking in Berlin’s Hoppetosse.

Sounds are subtle and considered, slotting into the mix with an unhurried pace, creating unique call and response situations between percussions and melodies. Atmospheres draw inspiration from balearic music, towing the line between bliss and introspection which is sure to create many memorable moments on the dance floor.

‘Hakol Kore’ continues the sun-kissed, nostalgic vibe in the A2, a beautiful sunrise-friendly number. Featherweight pads gloss over the mix creating a feeling of wholesomeness and warmth. Moods meander down a more cryptic and menacing vibe on the flip side with a remix from Floog, a renowned Romanian producer also known as George G – also a member of the Premiesku project alongside Livio and Roby.

Floog brings a more pensive and clubby mood, working his machines to breathe new life into the title track, before handing back to Brizman for his closing track ‘You Only Get What You Give’. As the title indicates, moods are emotive and thought-provoking in this beautiful micro-house jam. Moments of appreciation, contemplation, ecstasy, it’s all wrapped up in this cosy jam that rings bells of the Japanese ambient house sound via producers like Schinichi Atobe.
