Today we are hosting the fourth installment of Subee – the sublabel of BEEYOU Records. If you are familiar with the name, you probably know what to expect here in terms of quality and style. If no – well, that’s the part, when I’m usually going to refer you to our last year’s top-100 article. Seek SBEE002 code there to understand more.
This EP is the full responsibility of a guy called Aladdin, representing Lyon. A lot of tracks are in his producer’s collection already, all of them are swinging between deep house, garage house, a pinch of 2-step, some herbs from the 90s and everything that could be added there (and not ruining the whole dish). Actually, this could be a very brief description of this EP too.
“GIVEMETHEFUNK” – the opener of this one and, actually, our premiere, is responsible for all the 90s vibes here, providing a good, melodic stomper, that should help a lot of DJs to set the mood of their sets after this EP lands in the stores. Nothing extra, but a solid working tool we have here. And that “Fffreshh!” cut, can’t get enough of it here, yes.
“Shhh…t” on the end of the A-side is sending us some deep love with that piano chords. But it is also a little faster than A1, so don’t be tricked by its calm melody, it’s not all that here. The B-side seems to be much more broken with “420 Reve”, which takes us to a short breaksy trip and “Locked Steps” which provides us with some grimey 2-step mood.
SBEE005 is already announced, so expect SBEE004 very soon at shops, like Juno, Deejay or Decks and at the BEEYOU Records’ Bandcamp page.
