Per Hammar’s Dirty Hands imprint launches new sub-series Bijou Cuts.
The project invites a number of upcoming producers to the first release, exploring sleek, minimalist motives ready to rock peak time dance floors.
Berlin-based Jonaku brings a sleazy piano house jam to the premiered ‘After School Groove’. Swung drum patterns loop with a casual jazz-meets-tribal charm, working flirty bongos and neat jazzy brushes.
A nimble bassline weaves between the acoustic palate, occasionally introducing a seductive piano sample and an impressive freestyle drum solo setting the pace.
Sounds are rhythmic and punchy, carrying a confident, floor ready energy that would slot comfortably into the sets of the likes of SlapFunk and Apollonia DJs. Reduced, crafty house music with a moreish charm that gets the floor moving.
Per Hammer has been a pioneer of this sultry, dub-influenced shade of house music for over a decade, releasing a plethora of records with the likes of Malin Genie and Constant Sound, as well as his previously premiered full-length LP on his Dirty Hands imprint.
Finnish producer Selidos brings a mean garage cut to the release’s second contribution, slotting next to a deeper, textured exploration from Rhythms of Prescott and a hypnotic banger by Viennese artist Filip Szostak.
