French artists from our community have always flocked together in the most spectacular ways. One such super duo has perhaps cornered the market in the minimal and micro house spectrum is that of K.O.D which comprises Minibar label head Cabanne and former Concrete resident Lowris. The “Kings of Delay” pairing have for a long time revolved in the same musical circles and linked up on records for Minibar, Æternum Music, and AKU. The French pairing will shortly be officially reinstating the studio arm of their K.O.D project as they have a brand new EP on the way. Appearing on Lowris’ Instagram last month, the short clip of the test pressing being hints at another unmissable slab of wax.
While you are waiting for the next K.O.D record to drop on Minibar we have a very special live recording from their recent performance at Tomodachi in Ibiza. A live recording from this pair is always a marked occasion, but this was recorded in one of the most visually and technologically stunning venues in the world. Not to mention the superb club, the Tomodachi DJ booth houses a 1 of 1 TPI Type 29 Prototype analog mixer. When coupled with the full TPI soundsystem and Cabanne and Lowris at the controls, you have all the elements for a dream live recording scenario. We won’t spoil any of the action for you, but safe to say that for just over 90 minutes you will be treated to a masterclass in reductionist grooves from 2 very special artists playing one very special club.
