We are delighted to welcome Thai star DOTT to our mix series. Having blazed a trail across Asia, the More Rice label co-founder has become one of the hottest names in electronic music. From his base in Bangkok, DOTT crisscrosses Asia’s finest festivals and clubs that in the last few months have taken him to Vietnam, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and China. As travelled as he is, DOTT is also a pivotal member of Thailand’s own Fly To The Moon Festival. His crew took charge of Koh Mak island over the festive season for a magical trip, it was a defining moment witnessing him guide the whole festival to a brand new year and watching him usher in the first morning of 2025.
You will likely have caught some of his work on these very pages, but DOTT has become prolific artist that regularly exhibits his work on top labels such as Exarde, Trippy Cat, HOMEBP, Mr. Banger, Captea, Locked-In…the list goes on and will continue to grow. We can guarantee that. As well as being a regular on the touring circuit, DOTT is a permanent fixture at Bangkok’s newest late night beat emporium Bar Temp. Regularly playing sets at all points in the night’s progression has given the Thai artist the perfect opportunity to road test his new material.
This has clearly been invaluable as he has “produced” something rather special for his mix debut. His mix comprises only his own productions and with a UK heavy influence, he swiftly moves through heady breaks, percussive tech house, bleepy heaters, and all are expertly stitched together in such a way that only the creator could. The fact that DOTT’s mix clocks in at just over two hours speaks volumes about the wealth of bangers that he has in his locker. If you are venturing over to this side of the world, make sure you look up his gig schedule, as we are sure you will get a chance to catch him in action.
