John Dimas is an artist that certainly needs no introduction. Being a regular at our communities’ cornerstone events and clubs, he straddles the very fine line between minimal, house, techno, garage, bass music and everything in between. From his solo works for the likes of Half Baked, Raum, Metereze, and his own Elephant Moon and Synq imprints John is as constant source of inspiration. Something that he shares with his partner in crime Voigtmann as their VOIGT.MAS moniker is beginning to bear some seriously tasty fruit by way of their long player and incendiary DJ sets for Distrikt Paris, Danube, and Gottwood to name just a few of the dancefloors to have benefitted from outfit.

We of course have been looking forward to John making an appearance on our podcast series for some time and of course he has provided something very special. Recorded live at his performance at Playfest in Kosovo John explains what made this set so special, “…it was such a special experience in a national park in Ferizaj, Kosovo which is on the outskirts of Pristina and the crew behind the festival have been working very hard for many years to develop a scene there with our style of electronic music in the country which is not an easy task.

Being Albanian himself John has a special place in heart for the crew that put together Playfest and what they are doing for his homeland scene. By his own admission this podcast will also reset a lot of people’s ideas of where his sound is as he looks to consolidate where is at musically. We have a feeling that this will be on repeat for a hell of a lot of people, familiar with his sound or not.
