Long time collaborator of one Ricardo Villalobos, Tripmastaz is a certified don when it comes to groove packed minimal house. His priceless early releases for Desolat, Ovum, and M_nus set him down a path that would see his work progress to legendary status. As Andrew’s career progressed, so too did his quickly expanding discography and the many strings he added to his bow.
This took the form of releases on modern classics Bass Culture, Berg Audio, Infuse, and his own Tripmastaz and Respect The Craft imprints. His skill set has, as of 2019 been taken to the next level with the minting of his own mastering company aptly named Tripmastering.
True to form, Tripmastaz injects “P’s Dub” with an outrageous groove from the very beginning. Dusty rhythms are bolted to an ear worm of an acid line that wiggles its way in and out of reach of the thumping bassline that perfectly underpins the whole track. Synth stabs and a couple of very neat drops bring just the right amount of funk too, but it is the sizzling hi hats that really give this track some real bite.
