Bangkok-based artist DOTT has been on a mission of late in his bid to put his country firmly on the map and with a slew of widely supported releases, including the latest on his own co-founded More Rice imprint. As well as being a crack producer who combines the mysterious with the dastardly, he is also one of the most in-demand selectors in Southeast Asia.
It is his undoubted skills in the studio that has led us to this point, and we are thrilled to welcome DOTT to our Free Download series. Found nestled in the backroom of the More Rice record store in a sleepy area of downtown Bangkok is DOTT’s studio, where he cranks out heater after heater. It is here that he concocted his offering to our series – “Dirty Steps”. In keeping with his recent sound, DOTT dials up the sub-bass to 11 dirtying up the mix in the most delectable way. Noise snares and rattling percussion keep the groove going while mysterious synths swirl around the occasional synth stab.
