Italian artist Phill Prince and his Peletrax imprint have been pivotal in the Euro scene, and in their five releases, have established a sizeable footnote in the underground. We now present the latest in the PLTRX series with a two-track EP from label head Phill Prince.
Today’s premiere hits a dubby, tech route with Phill Prince’s “Snowmotion”, and his impeccable knack for injecting energy into his tracks is laid bare here. A roomy, yet heavy-hitting kick and hat combo sets the tone with ease before those lush dubby chords come dancing into view. While the infectious grooves and stunning synths are enough to make most rooms move, the elongated sax trills sit perfectly within the techier surroundings.
Completing PLTRX005 is “Dirty Desire”, and while the vibe is deeper, the intent is the same – to destroy the dancefloor. Rattling percussion and deep penetrating bass tones propel the track forward at a bubbling rate, but it is the smart vocal samples that really move things around. Groovie from the first to the last beat, this is a great example of why Phill Prince is very much an artist to catch at all costs.
