Each respective party to this downright outrageous meeting of musical minds has had an outstanding year to date. Birmingham promoters TRMNL has featured in these very pages for very good reason this year as they have thrown some of the cities standout parties at the regular haunt LAB11. Their bank holiday parties featuring the likes of Raresh, Sonja Moonear and Apollonia have all made huge noise for the local crew as have their summer rooftop parties.
The second element to this 2-room event taking place on Saturday, November 30th is Dutch house crew SlapFunk Records. Having stamped a huge footprint in the Amsterdam club scene SlapFunk are infamous for their raucous parties and with their second home being the notorious after-hours haunt BRET they sure know a thing or 2 about what makes a party bang.
The glue that binds these 2 camps together is none other than Real Gang. From their seasonal base in Ibiza, this creative band of artists have been spreading their reach to all corners of Europe and beyond. Having been flitting between their residencies at The Zoo Project and Ibiza Underground all season long with a loyal band of followers by their side the team has been regulars at both TRMNL and SlapFunk this year.
On the fabled Terrace over the course of the evening’s event a combined Birmingham / Ibiza / Amsterdam team of Miller and Nicolau, Sweely [Live], Josh Guest b2b Tatler and SlapFunk’s Julian Alexander will be in charge of the sounds. Meanwhile, LAB11’s Warehouse area will be treated to the sound of TRMNL and will include sets from NEVERDOGS, Djebali, Ray Mono, James Hardy, Karrèm. and Nathan Forbes. As always, attendance is essential for TRMNL events and just one look at the lineup it is clear why.
