Rome gets a new festival SUMDAYZ, inviting the likes of Apollonia, Praslesh and Quest b2b Christian AB

Italy gets a new independent festival SUMDAYZ. Coming in hot for their debut year, the collective are inviting a tasteful curation of artists to the stunning grounds of Rome’s Old Paper Mills through September 10th & 11th, 2022.

Built on a passion for music and it’s life-affirming experience in shared environments, the project has been a long time coming for Italy’s electronic music scene. The collective express their belief in the power of music, noting: “we believe passionately in the power of an experience to change people’s frame of mind, and, ultimately, the world, by encouraging sociality, interaction, and expression in all its forms.”

French tastemakers and true legends of the game Apollonia will headline the festival, bringing their infectious energy and bottomless bag of gems to the debut festival. Praslesh, Priku and Traumer also feature, bringing the slick minimal flavours to this varied line-up.

Representing the ever-present digging community, prolific back to back partners Quest and Christian AB will join forces once again. The duo have become notorious for their memorable sessions transgressing genres through ravey, soulful and sensual flavours during their extended sets.

tINI brings her uplifting energy to the bill, another veteran in the game guaranteed to pack her sets with surprises spanning glorious house and nasty acid flavours from her seasoned record bag. Giammarco Orsini also features on home turf, wrapping up the first wave of artists announced with his menacing tech-house bombs.

The festival will also cater for immersive, multi-sensory experiences alongside the monster line-up of music. Numerous installations and experiences will feature across the site, including a unique hologram-based exhibition from the Milanese digital art curators, Lava Club.

Plans have been in place since 2019 to get this two-day festival off the ground. As the co-founder Will Muir expressed his delight to make the idea a reality: “To finally make this happen for a generation of music lovers in one of Europe’s most iconic cities is our dream come true. We want to bring the joy of live music back with a bang and rebuild lost connections through a joint love of experience, music and dance.”

More artists and due to be announced for the two-day event and tickets are now available here.
