Planet Pleasure return to Berlin with Que Sakamoto, Annie Rock & more

Berlin collective Planet Pleasure returns on August 30th to close out the summer with a rooftop session.

In typical fashion of the German capital, the extended event will run from 2pm right through til sunrise of 6am. Of course, it goes without saying that the music for the duration will be out of this world, but the rooftop at the Atelier of Prince Charles, a seventh-floor space has already become a very special place, even in the realm of Berlin clubbing. Having already hosted many memorable events, many will already be familiar from the first of May editions. With stunning views across Berlin, this time the intimate space is reimagined under the Planet Pleasure lens, shaped by a renewed musical direction and concept that looks to the future of the project.

Soundtracking the daytime is the prolific Japanese DJ and producer Que Sakamoto. Riding a fine streak of form from his summer tour, Que’s high energy selections and unreleased dub plates have been stunning dance floors all over Europe. Ghent based selector and resident of Funke club, Yentl, brings her unique bag of tricks, alongside Thalo Santana and Julian Feierabend who will play back-to-back.

As the sunsets, a deeply eclectic and global bunch of selectors will take over the decks, with Japan’s Junki Inoue, Brazillian selector DPR and Ukrainian powerhouse Anny Rock. Junki has been a staple of the underground for many years with his residencies at Toi Toi and countless sets at the likes of Cartulis and FOLD in London. Tasteful tunes are guaranteed from the seasoned selector.

DPR, a Brazilian DJ with over a decade of experience in the booth with take care of sunset, alongside the mesmeric DJ Anny Rock. Known for her fiery selections, the Kyiv raised and Berlin-based artist has been shelling the likes of Tresor and Dimensions Festival, as well as her frequent back-to-back with E.Lina.

We featured the very first Planet Pleasure event back in 2021 with the likes of Vera, Gene on Earth & Anthea, fast forward five years and the crew continue to refine their vision, creating safe spaces for anyone to experience joy via top-tier artists in top-sounding spaces.

Their endurance-driven approach also caters for long sets where you really hear the best from artists and dancers can take their time throughout the day-into-night sessions. Bookings often feature complementary combinations of artists, encouraging a unique experience for both artist and dancers to express themselves. It’s not often you hear DJs from Ukraine, Japan, Belgium & Brazil all in one cohesive event with a consistent flow.

The rooftop setting promises one more chance to dance above the city skyline before summer fades, with the atmosphere shifting from daylight into evening as the journey unfolds.

Planet Pleasure stress that their return is more than just another party, ‘it’s a call to connect’. Strap into a final celebration of summer in one of the city’s most atmospheric urban locations with sweeping views and a passionate dance floor united under the sky.
