Planet Pleasure has been a consistent source of fun in recent times. Their events in the German capital have welcomed an esteemed selection of artists to the indoor-outdoor R.S.O venue, hosting the likes of Vera, Christian AB and Slow Life to name but a few.
Back in July, they hosted a marathon day-into-night session with Anthea, Ben Balance, S. Moreia, Hamish & Toby and CMYK spinning long sets into the morning hours.
This time sees an intriguing collaboration with the prolific System Error label ran by Moses Mawila aka Frozilla. The imprint has been in the bags of many selectors throughout the years with their many playful sub labels including BOMBS and TUNEZ becoming popular among vinyl collectors.
Next Friday the 14th October, the two collectives join forces at R.S.O for an extended session with two of the scene’s most regarded selectors in Nicolas Lutz and DJ Masda. Both artists carry a well deserved reputation of devotion between their essential labels My Own Jupiter and Cabaret Recordings, on top of their endless taste making DJ sets that continue to inspire generations of producers and diggers.
The amount of knowledge and history packed into their record bags spans decades, digging out the rarest of gems from various genre’s golden era and shaping them in extended, journey-like DJ sets. Having both these wizard-like artists in the same booth has proven to create a mesmeric energy, sifting through weapon after weapon with ease.
Joining them on the bill is the lovely French trio 192 GmbH. The rising crew are known for their synergetic sets, seamlessly sharing the decks through deep and elegant club cuts that all maintain a fun, buzzy energy. Local selectors Thabo, Brun0, and Frozilla also feature, making for a diverse and educative line-up.
The combination of dedication and pursuits of pleasure make this collaboration a refreshing affair. Both crews are completely committed to music, although make room for the roots of club culture in fun and hedonism which is easily overlooked in the obsession with music.
In order to get the most from the occasion, the event features a few comical instructions to read before arriving:
