It is going to be hard to top their tenth birthday celebrations as picnic have been pushing the musical envelope since last year’s tenth anniversary takeover at fabric. Taking full control of every room in fabric, picnic brought with them a full family squad that included tINI and Dyed Soundorom who played b2b, Data Access Memory Access who performed their first live set, Laurine, and Night Moves (Jane Fitz and Jade Seatle).
From this party in March the picnic crew embarked on a whirlwind trip around the globe that included the finest clubs such as Hoppetosse, Doka, Bonfim, The Pickle Factory, Cabaret Voltaire, The Lion and Lamb, the list goes on and on. The same can be said for their stage takeovers at Dimensions, Gottwood, ADE, but we are here to discuss their upcoming 11th birthday and it again is set to blow the doors off.
As always, picnic events cover a great spectrum of sounds but all have that groove and certainly have that funk. Taking place in every room of fabric’s labyrinthine dance spaces we can announce just some of the artists that will be in control of the sounds over the course of this legendary party in the making. Picnic main selector Andy Luff has helped to curate a ridiculous lineup that also includes Dr Banana b2b Alec Falconer, Ethel & Melody, Gabbs, Hamish & Toby, Mother Earth and Sweely who will unleash another stunning live set on.
There is plenty more information to come in the next few months so make sure you keep your eyes and ears wide open for news on who else is going to be performing. In the meantime, you can get your hands on tickets here.
