As summer begins to creep into view, Evasion Festival prepares for what it calls ‘the key to a new era’. Now entering its eighth edition, the French gathering returns to Grand Parc Miribel Jonage for two days of carefully curated programming that continues to refine rather than simply expand.
Set just 20 minutes from Lyon at La Plage de l’Atol, the 3.5 hectare site offers a rare combination of white sand beach, swimmable lake and wooded areas, creating a natural amphitheatre for three distinct stages. Each edition curates a unique bill, last year saw the likes of Adi, Carl H and Sweely as headliners.
Unlike most operations and events, Evasion Festival sets itself apart through an exclusively daytime schedule, and it’s easy to understand why. The breathtaking natural surroundings of the site are too remarkable to ignore, making the landscape itself one of the festival’s defining features.
It is a setting that has become central to Evasion’s identity in recent years, as the festival has shifted towards a more community, ecosystem-driven approach where music, art and landscape coexist.
Across the weekend of June 27 and 28, the programming spans house, disco house and techno, split between the beachside AURA stage, the more industrial-leaning LITUS stage co-curated with 23:59 and the intimate woodland UNDA space. Among the standouts is Ukrainian selector E.Lina, whose sets have earned a reputation for their depth and subtle propulsion. Her bag leans towards dubby, rolling tech house with a mysterious undercurrent, the kind of patient, late afternoon groove that feels tailor made for a wooded dance floor. Expect textured low end, finely tuned percussion and a teasing narrative that unfolds steadily.
Italian artist Gabbs also features on the bill, arriving in strong form after a run of high energy appearances across Europe. His sound balances drive and elegance, combining crisp drum work with emotive flashes. On a system tuned to open air precision, his set promises to be one of the weekend’s more dynamic moments.
Slow Life co-founder Laurine brings her unmistakable finesse to the UNDA stage, continuing the festival’s commitment to selectors who prioritise storytelling and subtlety. Her presence reinforces Evasion’s connection to the deeper European circuit, sitting comfortably alongside a strong contingent of artists linked to the French scene.
Berlin-based Alexia from the Omato crew is also invited, alongside Barcelona-based duo Cesar and Jason, and a wide range of emerging local talent ensure the programme remains rooted as much in community as in international draw.
New for 2026 is the Stella Camp experience, an on-site camping extension with its own late-night stage running until 4:30am, plus dedicated facilities and a considered musical direction. It is a logical evolution for a festival that has spent the past three years consolidating its vision.
With three stages, a beach backdrop and a lineup that bridges local energy with established European names, Evasion continues to define its own lane within the French summer calendar.
