Whether we like it or not, every spectacular story has to end at some point. Or, as the cliché at the end of every unforgettable tale points out: “…and they lived happily ever after” – and so does Waha Festival. It will undoubtedly live happily ever after in our collective memory as this year will mark the 10th anniversary and the final chapter of the Romanian fairytale-like experience.
A journey that began over a decade ago, born from the desire to bring together free-spirited and like-minded people – regardless of nationality, age, or gender. Over the years, Waha has gracefully managed to display and promote unity, diversity, harmony, and love in their purest forms. A sanctuary of freedom and self-exploration, a place where the vibrations of sound merge with those of nature. A place where, for a couple of days, people disconnect from their daily routines and tasks, from the noisy cities and stressful environments, to be present in the moment and in a way, to go back to their roots while taking a deep breath of hope.
Waha is not just an ordinary festival. It is a whole experience where the energy of music and the calm of nature merge in a magical symbiosis and will continue to do so for one last dance. One last dance that will mark the end of an era. It is an era that started from an idea and three stages located deep in the woods right in the heart of Romania, which has thrived and expanded alongside artists and listeners over the years.
As usual, the crew from Waha have thought of everything and everyone, so this year we are expecting for one last magical time their five carefully crafted stages: Beech, Oonda, Aural, Agora, and Treep.
Having said that, at the Beech stage, we are expecting some regulars such as Dan Andrei, who will make us dance for no less than 12 hours in a thrilling extended set, Dragoș Ilici with his playful spirited grooves, two-thirds of the charming [a:rpia:r] trio playing individual sets: Petre Inspirescu and Rhadoo, as well as some newcomers at the festival, such as Berlin-based Bruno Schmidt or UK’s Unai Trotti.
