Since their creation in 2017, Chat Noir, electronic branch of the Parisian service label Kuroneko Media, has never disappointed. Always on the lookout for novelty and with a perspective of bringing out electronic artists who suggest innovative sounds, they managed to establish themselves as a real reference point in the Parisian, French and European scene.
On Saturday, October 8th, Parisian distributor and record label Chat Noir celebrates its 5th year anniversary taking over the two rooms of the famous Parisian venue Le Point Ephémère. Almost like a mini-festival, there will be live performances, DJ sets and vinyl and tattoo stands, from 6pm to 3am.
In terms of line-up, the two residents and co-founders of the Parisian record label and collective Quatre Records will kick off the event for a four-hour back-to-back. Meria and MadScottish have known each other long enough for their complicity to suggest a smooth journey between electro, house and techno. They are particularly known through their collective, which promotes electronic culture and free parties, organises original events around electronic music and raises awareness for certain charitable causes. You won’t want to miss their set from 6pm to 10pm in the big room. Mars O10C, from the Lyon-based booking agency Everybody Trance, will follow up behind the decks for a set ranging from progressive house to trance and breaks.
On the other wing of the club, the Concert Hall will be lit up by the break and 90s techno of Sung, a South Korean artist based in Paris whose musical universe is still beyond some. A lover and collector of electronic music from a young age, her collection is incredible and her technique impeccable. She will take over the club from 9pm onwards.
Producer Bilal Khan aka Central Intelligence will carry on with his 90’s and bleep techno influenced sound. Equipped with vintage synthesizers and drum machines, the young artist revisits 90s electronic sounds with a modern approach. His first record was released in 2021 on Colin Chiddle’s label Art Of Dark and allowed him to play live for renowned organisers such as Half Baked in London or Picnic in Berlin.
And for a perfect closing with techno sounds tinged with 80’s new-wave influences, Chat Noir is calling the real catalyst of the Ajaccio scene Pascal Ordioni aka P.O. Also the programmer of the Era Ora festival and its affiliated label Era Ora Records, the young artist is working to bring to light a boiling Corsican electronic scene.
In addition to DJ sets and performances, Chat Noir will have a vinyl stand with records from their label and distribution, so you can get to know their universe better. Expect records from Chat Noir tools, Chat Noir Rec, Griffé, Another Perspective and many more. On the tattoo side, we still have little information, but watch for minimalism, structured lines and emerging artists to be discovered.
