Scotland has had its fair share of stop starts when it has come to club based events but that all looks to be changing with the long-awaited easing of restriction on events. What is even more exciting for the Scottish heads is that there will be a brand-new venue being unveiled in the centre of the historic capital city. Central EH1 is a perfectly formed 600 capacity event space that with a main room and a terrace and the production, more importantly the sound system will knock your socks off.
With the city not receiving such a venue in such a long time there is obviously a need for one hell of a line-up to match the occasion. Headlining Central EH1’s main space The Gallery on Saturday, January 29th will be Fuse core member Rossko and any raver worth their salt should be well aware of his powers behind the decks. An absolute legend on the London scene he has made a huge name for himself on the strength of his selection skills and this has ensured his place on only the finest line-ups.
Joining Rossko will be another hotshot artist that has a mountain of forgotten gems and under the radar bangers that you never knew you loved. That man is Marginal Returns boss Andrew James Gustav and his sets are widely regarded as utterly unmissable. This is putting it mildly as he regularly turns out for the likes of The Ghost, ID BCN and Wildt in Prague. Always prepared with a bag full of curve balls there will be no better place to be than right in front of him for the duration.
Helping to warm the dance planks and the towering d&b audiotechnik soundsystem will be Ibiza and London staple Lindsey Matthews as well as a crack team of Edinburgh spinners in Gav Miller, Modula Records boss Jezz Simpson and Joe Wheeler, Adam Chapman and Central EH1 mastermind Nick Checketts. With these city residents being a regular fixture in the city for some years and Nick’s ODYSSEY nights paving the way for the sound currently being pushed The Gallery is in great hands throughout the 12-hour marathon.
Over on The Terrace the sound will be slightly contrasting in vibes which will temper the whole day nicely. Taking care of business will be full a full array of Scottish talent in Beth, the DBT. pairing of DJ Bz b2b Doogi, DO REGO, the RMN.BTS head honcho Dablo joined by the CAJ duo of Charlie Craig and Johnny Smith, NIGHT TUBE and the four-man team OUTSET. With plans to extend the capacity to 1000+ during the warmer summer months this is only the start for this exciting prospect that Edinburgh has been crying out for.
With the day time session taken care of there is no time to relax as the DBT. team will be putting on an almighty after party at one of Edinburgh’s already highly prized venues The Biscuit Factory. Situated across town in the city’s more industrial area of Leith there will be more star quality in store as an all-star cast has been assembled to really put the icing on the cake. Heading up the warehouse after hours setting will be Salty Nuts boss Fabe and his energetic techy joints will be just the tonic to keep the groove bouncing into the wee small hours. The studio head has a vast locker of productions up his sleeve and can call upon releases from the likes of Cocoon, Mulen Records, Fuse London, Eastenderz as well as his own fire imprint.
Joining Fabe will be hotshot producer Casey Spillman. A London scene regular alongside the Fuse team is in the process of becoming a very hot prospect and with very well received ‘Summer Dreaming’ EP on LOCUS and ‘Up and Away’ EP on Burnski’s Constant Sound this is one artist to watch out for in 2022. Completing the lineup at Biscuit Factory will be local lads Hand-made and with them already making waves across the UK especially in Edinburgh it is clear why RA have chosen this as one of their top pick. Clubbing is back in Scotland and Edinburgh is arriving with a bang.
